The Eight Banners system is an important military system in the Qing Dynasty and the basic framework of the military system in the Qing Dynasty.After clearing the customs,the Eight Banners will be divided into two categories:the Forbidding Eight Banners and the Eight Guards.The garrison of the Eight Banners is an important way for the Qing government to strengthen local social control.The current research on the Eight Banners is a hot topic in the field of historiography.However,the results are mainly concentrated in the areas of Guangzhou,Xi'an,Jingzhou and the northeast where literature materials are abundant,The lack of landmark achievements in the study of the Eight Banners garrison is of great significance and value to the study of the Eight Banners in Jingkou.The first chapter discusses the historical changes in the number of officers and men of the Eight Banners in Jingkou and the process of the establishment and improvement of the flag city.At the same time,it makes a detailed inspection of the reason why the Han troops in the Eight Flags of Jingkou were sent out.The second chapter highlights the difference in the treatment of the garrison officers and soldiers in the garrison area between the garrison and other provinces in the social life insurance of the Beijing-Keiqi-Qiqi Banner.It also sorts out the public land and the activities for self-sustaining self-employment.The third chapter of Jingkou Eight Flags is about the special features of their functions and roles in protecting the garrison,defending the Jiangning garrison,strengthening the coastal defense,and inspecting the river defense.The fourth chapter emphasizes the supervision of the Qing court in the indirect way to the generals in Beijing.Chapter 5 makes a comprehensive summary of the reasons for the decline of the Eight Banners garrison in Jingkou from an objective point of view.It particularly emphasizes the adjustment of the national strategic defense of the Qing court and the impact of the previous military wars on the Eight Banners of the Jingkou Garrison.
