A Report On The E-c Transediting Of Odd News On Huanqiu Website

With the development of informationization,foreign news has greatly enriched people's daily life.As a way of information communication,news transediting has gotten rapid development and many websites in China have established their own transediting columns of English news to promote information exchange,such as Huanqiu Website,Tencent and Yeeyan.Some of the English news which is transedited by the author in the odd news column of the transediting platform of the Huanqiu Website is selected in this report.Under the guidance of the Translation Variation Theory,the transediting difficulties of the odd news are analyzed and the translation methods and skills are applied to solve the problems.This report consists of five parts.Part one is introduction,which introduces background information,the purpose and the significance of this translation task in this report.Part two is task description,which gives an introduction to the features of the translation task,lexicon,syntax,rhetorical expressions,headlines and text type and function of the English news text in the odd news column,and the requirements from the transediting platform of the Huanqiu Website.Part three is about the process of translation,which consists of before translation,while translation and after translation.Before translation is about the transediting preparations made by the author.The odd news transediting process of the author and the revisions on translation from the advisor are included in the while translation.And the post translation is the evaluation from the advisor,readers,peers and the author herself.Part four is the case analysis.In this part,problems in headline transediting,information integration of the body,rhetorical expressions and slangs and idioms are analyzed.At the same time,specific translation methods and skills are also introduced in this part by analyzing some concrete cases.Part five is the conclusion,which states the unsolved problems and related reflection about the news transediting,as well as the inspiration and prospect for the future work.
