Research On Chinese-English News Report Translation From The Perspective Of Translation Variation Theory

Chinese-English news report translation is required to be edited and translated in limited time. It will get into trouble if full translation is overemphasized. Therefore, Chinese-English news report variation translation helps to fill in the cross-cultural gaps, meeting the demands of high effectiveness in news communication.Although theories on news report translation emerge one after another, researches on Chinese-English news report translation is few. Moreover, many researches focus on the translation variation methods applied in the Chinese-English news report translation, but they rarely notice its translation strategies and application. With a view to improving this situation, two parts are mainly discussed in this paper. Firstly, it explores necessity of this research in this paper. Different from other types of translation materials, news report translation manifests political significance. Researches on Chinese-English news report translation contribute to improving the global communication, building a good national image and safeguarding the national interest. Besides, Chinese and English news report differs in title and body, which is made up by Translation Variation Theory. Secondly, profound and thorough corpus is analyzed completely in Chinese to English news report study from the perspective of Translation Variation Theory. By six translation strategies of supplement, deletion, edition, reduction, combination and remodeling, the paper analyzes the content and strategies one by one. In addition, with the help of the Translation Variation Theory, this paper puts forward the News Report Translation Variation Model. Its principle is to bring the translator’s subjectivity into full play and make reasonable variations at two levels (title and body) in different steps under the guidance of Translation Variation Theory.In short, this paper widens the research range of Translation Variation Theory and enriches variation study in Chinese-English news report translation so as to improve news communication quality, providing theoretical guidance for issues of linguistic difference in Chinese-English news report translation and maximizing the effectiveness.
