Xinyang Museum,an important place dedicated to collecting,preserving and presenting the cultural heritage in the Central Plains of China,has collected many representative artifacts,including pre-historic artifacts,bronze ware dating back to the Xia,Shang and Zhou Dynasties,ceramics,jade ware and stone engravings and so on.What's more,there are seven exhibition halls in the museum,showing the root culture and folk customs in Xinyang with a strong cultural heritage.As the epitome of the development of the Chinese civilization,the Central Plains culture has been the window for the world to understand China in recent years.Therefore,the translation of Xinyang museum's commentary has broadened the channels for foreigners to know about China and played a key role in the communication of Xinyang culture.This text has a very high value of publicity,not only promoting the development of Xinyang tourism,but also driving the spread of local culture in this era of globalization.According to the style of the original text,the author chooses Eco-translatology Theory as the theoretical guidance,and combines six translation methods and strategies,such as literal translation,free translation,literal translation with annotation addition,transliteration and omission to translate chapters from four to six,with the titles respectively,The Root of Hakka People,The Xinyang Maojian Tea and The Folk Art of Xinyang.This practice report is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background,significance and value of the text.The second chapter focuses on the introduction about Hu Gengshen's Eco-translatology Theory.The third chapter is the description of translation task,including the analysis and introduction of the original text.The fourth chapter is the study on the translation of The Publicity Material of Xinyang Museum under the guidance of Eco-translatology Theory.The last chapter is the author's translation summary.Due to the particularity of the text,there are a lot of words with Chinese characteristics,such as bronze ware jargons,culture-loaded words,set phrases with four words,writings in classical style,couplet,etc,which are the focus of the translation.The translation practice of Xinyang museum deepens the author's understanding of the Eco-translatology Theory,and also improves the author's translation ability.At last,the author hopes the thesis can provide a reference for the translation practice of this kind of texts.
