Francesco de Goya's "black painting" is a sequel for his last years.Unlike the sweet and fresh style of the early and mid-early years, here Goya told his story by using the gloomy and crazy character companion with dark gloomy colors. This is a series of works that can be regarded as a summary: including Goya's thinking about the aging of the body, social changes, afflictions, and memories of life. This article tries to summarize the origin and development of "madness & foolish" images in this period of painting and contrast with the similar themes in Bosch and Bruegel's paintings.Furthermore,I try to interpret the madness spirit in the civilization between 16 th and 18 th century,so that to understand how these crazy roles played in history. Finally,I would like to talk about the further influence of Goya on generations, who opened the door to modernist painting.
