Research On The Art Of Gourd Pyrography

As one of the intangible cultural heritages of China,the gourd pyrography is an extremely precious rare painting species in ancient China.According to legend,it originated in the Han Dynasty and was later lost,but rose again in the Qing Dynasty.Now it is widespread in Henan,Hebei and other places.This study mainly analyzes four aspects from the perspective of art theory: firstly,it talks about the formation and value of gourd pyrography,focusing on the analysis of its development process from the angles of society,history and culture,and the research value of gourd pyrography;secondly,it takes the gourd pyrography work as an example,analyzing the contents of gourd pyrography mainly from the perspective of theme and subject;thirdly,it analyzes the gourd pyrography from the level of art,including material level,materials and tools;symbol level,lines,shapes,compositions,techniques,artistic language features;implication level,the beauty of natural simplicity,craftsmanship,for m,and folk;fourthly,it analyses the relationship between the basic artistic features and the related arts of gourd pyrography such as palace art,literati art,religious art and“new folk art” from the perspective of diversified values.In the end,the theory of folk art and the theory of art consumption are used to make a theoretical analysis of the plight and trend about the development of gourd pyrography.The main research value of this study is to analyze the themes,subjects,art levels,and diversified values of the gourd pyrography,which leads to the development prospects of gourd pyrography,and provides suggestions for the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage.What is more,the innovation of this study is to use the research methods of art theory to conduct a preliminary discussion and study on the specific issues of gourd pyrography from the aspects of social art and the principle of art.
