In recent years, the cause of translation in China has been booming.More and more Chinese works are translated into various languages and understood by other countries in the world.Likewise,a large number of overseas works have also been translated into Chinese. With the development of China's economy and its increasing status in the world, the cause of Chinese translation has also been greatly expanded.Eleven Rings, written by American NBA basketball coach Phil Jackson based on his experience, tells what he did as a coach and how he won eleven rings by leading many NBA basketball superstars and guiding them how to communicate with others. The reason why the translator chooses this book is not only to provide understanding of NBA to those who love basketball, but also to learn the Zen thoughts and management concepts in the book, which is very suitable for people to read. With different purposes, this book is very necessary for translation. The original is a basketball novella, including some narration and discussion. And most sentences are short, colloquial, and lacking subject or other ingredients. Therefore,in translation, the completeness of the sentences needs to be paid more attention to.In conclusion, the translator chooses Nida's theory of functional equivalence as the theoretical support for the translation report, and uses many translation methods in translating long sentences, attributive clauses and dashes in the original text.
