The teaching of Chinese characters is considered to be a difficult point in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Chinese characters are ideographic texts.For non-Sinosphere students,they generally believe that Chinese characters are "hard to write,to recognize,to remember,and to learn".However,Chinese characters are the carrier of Chinese culture and are created by the Chinese people in labor.They embody the Chinese way of thinking.Therefore,if they want to learn Chinese well,Chinese characters is a required course.Mind Mapping,created by Tony Buzan,a British “master of memory”,is a new mode of thinking that combines right and left brains.Its combination of lines,text,color,graphics,etc,enables the brain to reach its optimal level.The author will collection and analysis the materials such as homework,final examination papers and dictation of the students at the primary stage.It is found that students have major problems in the writing of strokes and components.In order to solve these problems,the author will use the mind mapping to teach,make it concrete in the teaching of Chinese characters,and give some teaching cases.Then you can find that using the mind mapping to carry out Chinese character teaching can increase students' interest in learning Chinese characters,reduce their writing errors and improve their memory and application of learned knowledge.This dissertation consists of five parts.The first chapter introduces the basic situation of the Confucius Institute at Bulacan State University and the development of Mind Mapping at home and abroad.The second chapter mainly The second chapter mainly focuses on the author's collection of Chinese linguistic materials and their collation,categorization and analysis.On this basis,the author finds that students have misunderstood the writing of Chinese characters and analyzed the causes,and introduced the mind mapping.Relevant content and mind maps are applied to the feasibility of Chinese character teaching.In the third chapter is to solve the above problems,combine Chinese characters and mind mapping,and give specific teaching cases,which will help promote the teaching of Chinese characters,reduce the difficulty of learning Chinese characters,and improve students' interest in learning.In the fourth chapter are conclusions and outlook for the future.
