A Study On The Zhoushimingtongji Preposition

This article learned from previous works of preposition research,analyzes and studies the prepositions in Zhoushimingtongji comprehensively and systematically.The article fully present the prepositions in Zhoushimingtongji from the aspects of semantic classification,frequency of usage,position,syntactic function and the usage of prepositions and objects.The article is divided into five parts:Chapter ? is Introduction.Including the research purposes and significance of the study,research objects and range,research status,methods and the source of corpus.Most of the previous studies have been about the translation of Zhoushimingtongji,this article pays more attention to the description of the syntactic functions of the prepositional structure in Zhoushimingtongji,and summarize the characteristics of the use of prepositions in the Northern and Southern Dynasties through the comparison with One hundred Buddhist Parables,Qiminyaoshu and Admonitions of the Yan Family.Chapter ? is semantic analysis of prepositions in Zhoushimingtongji.According to semantic categories,prepositions include subjective preposition,objective preposition,participate preposition,locative preposition,time preposition,evidence preposition,causation preposition,relative preposition and comparison preposition.The locative preposition and time preposition occupy a larger proportion,and single preposition "and" and "with" account for a larger proportion.Chapter ? analyzes the formation and syntactic functions of prepositional phrase in Zhoushimingtongji.There are mainly divided into two kinds of preposition phrases,one is consists of preposition and nominal component,the other is consists of preposition and predicative elements.And the phrases consists of preposition and nominal component dominate the optimal portfolios.Chapter ? is the comparative study of the use of prepositions in Zhoushimingtonggji,One hundred Buddhist Parables,Qiminyaoshu and Admonitions of the Yan Family from the following four aspects:prepositional members,semantic classification,syntactic functions and frequency of usage.There are more new prepositions in Qiminyaoshu and Admonitions of the Yan Family,and the proportion of prepositional phrases acts as adverbials in sentences is higher in Zhoushimingtongji and One hundred Buddhist Parables.The use of new prepositions is higher in Zhoushimingtongji and Qiminyaoshu.Chapter V is the Conclusion.The prepositions in the Northern and Southern Dynasties took the adverbial role as the main syntactic functions.Some new prepositions appear and most of them are adverbial in the sentence.The complexity of new prepositions and adverbial elements has promoted the forward shift of prepositional phrases in the Northern and Southern Dynasties,and the use of prepositions can reflect the regional characteristics of the Southern Dynasties.
