Objective Child neglect is a global problem,which is the guardian failed to fulfilled the needs of the child.Child neglect can cause a series of serious effects.First of all,we use questionnaire survey to examine the the status of childhood neglect of college students and the influence factor of childhood neglect.Secondly,we use experimental method to learn the relationship between childhood neglect and facial emotion recognition.Methods In the research 1,a total 430 students were randomly selected.Child Neglect Scale,Emotional Intelligence Scale,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Self-esteem Scale were implemented among all the participants.SPSS17.0 statistical software was used for data reduction and data analysis.In the research 2,40 subjects participated in our experiment.We divide the subjects into two groups.Facial emotion recognition task was exerted to each subjects.Observation variables are accuracy,reaction time and pleasure rating.Results According to the research 1,childhood neglect had negative relation with emotional intelligence,emotional perception dimension and emotional use dimension(P<0.05).Security neglect had negative relation with emotional intelligence(P<0.05).Communication neglect had negative relation with emotional use dimension(P<0.05).Physical neglect had negative relation with emotional intelligence,emotionalperception dimension,emotional use dimension and the modify of emotion dimension(P<0.05).Childhood neglect had negative relation with self-esteem and positive coping style(P<0.05).Childhood neglect had positive relation with negative coping style(P<0.05).The mediation of coping style was significan.The intermediary effect ratio of positive coping style was 29.4%.The intermediary effect ratio of negative coping style was 12.6%.According to the research 2,the main effect of the group is significant in terms of accuracy of facial emotion recognition task[F(1,38)=34.01,P<0.01].The accuracy of experience group was lower than control group.The main effect of the group and background color are significant in terms of reaction time[F(1,38)=5.05,P<0.05] [F(1,38)=5.868,P<0.05].The interaction of facial expression and background color is significant[F(1,38)=14.489,P<0.01].The main effect of the group is not significant in terms of pleasure rating[F(1,38)=0.24,P=0,626].The main effect of facial expression and background color are significant[F(1,38)=979.23,P<0.01] [F(1,38)=5.306,P<0.05].Childhood neglect had negative relation with the accuracy of facial emotion recognition task(P<0.01).Childhood neglect had positive relation with reaction time(P<0.05).Conclusion(1)Childhood neglect had negative relation with emotional intelligence,self-esteem and positive coping style.Childhood neglect had positive relation with negative coping style.(2)Different coping styles showed diferent regulation effects between childhood neglect and self-esteem.(3)Childhood neglect can cognitive impairment.The experience group is worse than control group regarding the facial emotion recognition task.(4)There is a correlation between childhood neglect experience and emotional recognition and cognitive function.
