English writing is a kind of practical activity of comprehensive application of English knowledge,but there are some problems in the teaching of English writing in high schools.So it needs a better writing teaching method to solve the problems encountered in the writing process and improve students' interest in writing.Cooperative learning method is a kind of teaching theory and strategy system,which means in the study group students have a clear division of responsibility to complete the task together with mutual learning method.The cooperative learning method mainly adopts the teaching form of group activities concentrating on students,fully mobilizes students' initiative,and plays the potential of students to meet the needs of students.In this research,the application of cooperative learning method was carried out in Genhe No.2 Senior High School of Inner Mongolia.The aim is to reduce the typical grammatical errors in writing and improve students' interest in English writing and improve their performance through cooperative learning method.The research focuses on the experimental analysis method,combined with questionnaire,interview and other methods to verify the positive effect of cooperative learning method on English writing in high schools.During the experiment,the teacher led the students to write in class and then find the writing errors in vocabulary and grammar by exchanging and reading compositions.The students sorted them out.Finally,the writing task was completed with the teacher's comments.The result of the application of cooperative learning method lies in the decrease of errors in students'compositions,such as parts of speech,articles,prepositions,adjectives and adverbs error,verbs,tenses,voice errors,Chinglish and errors in clauses;the grade of writing improves significantly;the attitudes towards writing and writing class have also changed dramatically.The process for learners to internalize the target language is that of making,recognizing and correcting mistakes.In cooperation,this process is continuously circulated,and finally the learners achieve the goal of internalization.There was no significant difference in spelling errors,collocation errors and word order errors before and after the experiment due to clerical errors,poor basic knowledge,interlingual transfer and other influences.Therefore,in English teaching,teachers should pay attention to the accumulation of basic knowledge and focus on the explanation and practice of words and phrases.In cooperative learning,the activities for practising fixed collocation and typical patterns should be increased.Seek the excellent usage in compositions and analyse great sentence patterns such as emphasis.How to avoid the influence of interlanguage transfer more effectively and better mobilize the introverted students who are afraid or unwilling to express their opinions remain to be studied.
