The Spirit Of Literature And Art In Yan'an And Its Value

A forum which was about literature and art was held and an important statement,Talks at Yan'an Forum on Art and Literature,was made by comrade Mao Zedong in Yan'an On May 2,1942.To study the relationship between Literature and Art and general revolutionary workers,Mao Zedong prefaced important remarks on the problems of the class stand of the writers and artists,their attitude,their audience,as well as the question of whom to serve and how to serve.The movement in literature and art developed vigorously in Yan'an and other Anti-Japanese Base Areas after the Yan'an speech,forming the precious spirit of Yan'an literary arts.The spirit of Yan'an literary arts was formed by the direct guidance of Marxism and Mao Zedong,and Yan'an literary spirit played an important role in uniting the people to defeat the enemy and enriching the spiritual and cultural life of the people in base areas and the masses throughout the country,which was recognized as the quite precious spiritual wealth in Chinese national culture and it had always been closely combined with the artistic creation in practice at that time.The literary spirit in Yan'an period was the solid and strong basis of our party's research work about literature and art theory,which helped the Marxist theory of literature and art was unprecedented disseminated.Since then,a great number of proletarian writers,artists and literary theorists have grown up rapidly under the cultivation of Party.In the mainly body of the paper,it mainly elaborated three aspects:the historical background,the interpretation and the age value of Yan'an literary spirit.Several relevant conclusions given in this paper are believed to be of theoretical and practical significance for both the Cultural Construction of the Chinese Feature Socialism and the development of the literary and art.
