| Verb-complement construction,a type of important grammatical structure,has exerted profound effects on the developments of Chinese word formation and of Chinese syntactic structure,on the grammaticalization and on the diversification of semantic expressions,hence,studying on the origin and its developments of verb-complement construction will enable us not only to acknowledge its evolution and its significance and role amid the whole history of Chinese language,but also to uncover the phenomenonal properties and regularities in practical application.Wei jin southern and northern dynasties is the transitional period of Chinese language from the ancient to medieval times,the language at that time,serving as a connecting link between the preceding and the following,still has some grammar phenomena that is out of use remaining in the language of this period;At the same time,many grammatical phenomena common in modern Chinese originated from the language of that time.As a notebook novel in the southern dynasty,“Shi Shuo Xin Yu ”composed of short and witty stories categorized in different themes,records a large amount of spoken language at that time,good enough to be called as a piece of “fossil” of the language materials.Therefore,through the analysis of the Dynamic filling structure in this book,this research could reveal the characteristics of the language as well as the general situation of language development back then.In view of others' definition of verb-complement construction in modern Chinese,this paper,with the general situation of language in wei jin dynasties and characteristics of the verb-complement construction in the book,defines dynamic filling structure from the two aspects of the structural form and grammatical meaning.Based on this,this paper strives to distinguish the dynamic complement structure from other similar structures and the complement from other similar syntactic structure respectively and then classify the two from perspectives of form and semantic meaning.In view of this,the verb-complement construction in “Shi Shuo Xin Yu” are divided into six categories: moving resultant results(verb + complement),dynamic trend(verb + tends to complement),dynamic programming(verb + complement),dynamic type(verb + circumstances)complement,momentum(verb + complement)and dynamic type(verb + complement locations).The article is divided into seven chapters and three parts.The first part is the introduction,the second part is the main part of the thesis and the third part is the conclusion.We will discuss the formal characteristics(the verb?the object and the complement)?semantic features of each kind of dynamic complement structure and the pragmatic features. |
