The skill of hand making sandware in Pingding,Shanxi province is the fourth batch of representative entry of national intangible cultural heritage.It's an extension list item(VIII-98).Pingding sandware is mainly based on making of daily utensils,and partially based on furnishings.Sandware once used to be used in the life of people in Shanxi province and the surrounding areas because its body is compact,hard,durable and cheap.With the reform and opening up in the new period,the industrial daily products with good price and better quality are increasingly rich.The material living conditions and the consumption concept of people have changed enormously,and the traditional pure handicraft industry has been greatly impacted.The serious redundancies in this industry have led to a crisis in the inheritance of the traditional craft.Nowadays,under the situation that the state vigorously implements the protection of the intangible cultural heritage and introduces the ‘Plan to Revitalize Chinese Traditional Craft',the situation of inheritance of Pingding sandware has been improved,and it has also achieved remarkable effects in many aspects.But how can we ensure that this traditional craft can continue to pass on,how can more people know it and let it be better integrated into people's life so that it can be reinvigorated? This article will be based on the materials obtained from the field survey of the production area,and summarize the current status of Pingding sandware making craft,the national level protection list project,analyze the achievements and experience of the protection work carried out by the representative inheritors,dissect this project and the difficulties faced by the project protection unit at present and put forward rationalization proposals.
