Delaware School Climate Scale-Home(DSCS-H)Chinese Revision

Objective:the purpose of this study is to introduce Delaware School Climate Scale—Home(DSCS-H),and test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version in Chinese adolescent parent group and its grades and genders measurement equivalence,and carry out a Chinese version.Methods:the Chinese version of DSCS-H was applied to sample consisted of 2,020 parents whose children in elementary,middle,and high schools.They come from 4 districts:Changsha,Nanning,Zhuzhou and Hezhou,and 63 of them were retested after four weeks.Results:(1)theoretical model test:the factor structur of the Chinese version is the same as the original,The results of confirmatory factor analysis support the Second-order model:?CFI=.924;?TLI=0.910;?RMSEA=.051;?SRMR=0.038.(2)Standard validitys:the total score of DSCS-H is related to the children's Language and mathematical achievements,while the confidence interval of primary school students is less than 0.01,but the confidence interval of middle school students is less than 0.05.Both the total score of DSCS-H and its factors has a negative correlation with the total score of the Delaware School bullying(student),as well as its' factors(p<0.01).the total score of DSCS-H and scores of each factor were significantly related to parents' satisfaction with school.(3)Equivalence of measurement:the results of data analysis show that DSCS-H has the Equivalence of grades and ganders.(4)Cronbach's alpha coefficient:the alpha coefficient of the Chinese version of the DSCS-H scale was 0.964,each subscale's alpha coefficient floating in the range of 0.555?0.923;(5)the split half reliability:the split half reliability of DSCS-H is 0.956,the split half reliabilitys of the six factors floating in the range of 0.287?0.909;(6)Retest reliability:the retest reliability coefficients of the scale is 0.782,the retest reliability coefficients of the factors range 0.659 to 0.809;(7)Measurement invariance:there is no significant difference across grade level and gander on the scores of full scale and each factor.Conclusion:the Chinese version of DSCS-H has good reliability and validity as well as gender equivalence and grade equivalence.
