Self-injurybehavioris a non-adaptive psychopathological behavior.According to the environmental function model of self-injurious behavior,it can be seen that adolescents'self-injury behaviors are influenced by many factors, such as environment, emotion and cognition.Social rejection is an environmental variable that has a remarkable prediction about adolescent self-injury,and the shame is often used as a negative emotion that is triggered by certain circumstances, especially social exclusion, which can effectively trigger adolescent self-injury behavior.Cognitive reappraisal is an effective way of emotion regulation. Therefore, this study will discuss the relationship between social exclusion and adolescent self-injury behaviors and the internal occurrence mechanism based on the environmental function theory of self-injury behavior. In this study, three experiments were conducted,Experiment one,the experimental method is used to verify the effect of social exclusion on juvenile self-injury.Experiment two through the cyberball experiment paradigm to induce adolescent rejection experiences, using cold pressure experiments to simulate self-injury behaviors,to discuss whether social rejection can induce the sense of shame in self-injury youth, and the shame of whether or not to be an intermediary in social rejection and adolescent self-injury.The third study examined the moderating effect of cognitive reappraisal on shame, namely whether cognitive reappraisal can alleviate or eliminate the stigma caused by social exclusion, thus reducing self-injury behavior. The results of this study are as follows:(1)socialexclusion was significantly positively correlated with the sense of shame and self-injurious behavior; There was a significant positive correlation between shame and self-injury.(2)the sense of shame plays an intermediaryrole in the relationship between social exclusion and self-injurious behavior.(3)cognitive reappraisal can regulate the mediating role of shame. In particular, the mediatingeffect of shame was not significant in the cognitive reappraisal group, but significant in the non-cognitive reappraisal group. Conclusion:social exclusion, shame and self-injury are related to each other. The sense of shame plays an intermediary role between social exclusion and self-injury,while cognitive reassessment can regulate the mediating effect of shame.
