The research object of this paper is the School of Sinology of Mae Fah Luang University in Thailand.After doing practice teaching in School of Sinology for ten months,through the field survey method,questionnaire method,interviewing method and other methods,the author studies and analyses the general curriculum setting,Chinese teaching situation,teacher management and so on.There are five chapters in the paper:The first chapter mainly deals with the research summary,the significance and purpose,the object and contents,the methods and stages of the research.The second chapter is the present Chinese teaching situation in School of Sinology.The third chapter analyses the existing problems of Chinese teaching in School of Sinology.Based on the effective feedback of the questionnaire and interview to teachers and students,it analyses the problems such as curriculum setting,teaching materials,teachers,teacher management,etc.The fourth chapter gives some suggestions about how to improve Chinese teaching quality in School of Sinology.The fifth chapter is conclusion and points out the advantages and disadvantages of this paper.Through investigation the author finds that Chinese teaching in School of Sinology has a relatively large scale and unique majors.It plays an important role in Thailand's Chinese teaching.But it also has some problems although it develops well.For instance,spoken Chinese class is not enough;some courses lack of fixed teaching materials;teachers use too much intermediate language in class;students have a passive learning behavior.From this,the author makes some suggestions through the general curriculum setting,Chinese teaching situation and teacher management.Hoping this paper can make contribution to the Chinese teaching in School of Sinology.
