For a long time,social history as an important field of history research has attracted the attention of many scholars.After the 20th century,with a large number of bamboo and wood slips and cultural relic excavated,new materials were added to the study of Qin and Han period of social history.In particular,from 1973 to 1976,the real objects and bamboo and wood slips were unearthed from ancient tombs of Han Dynasty in Fenghuang mountain,It provided new information for the study of social life in Jiangling in the early western Han Dynasty.The funeral instrument,real objects,and administrative documents that were unearthed in ancient tombs of Han Dynasty in Fenghuang mountain are important documents for studying the social life of the Jiangling region in the early years of the western Han Dynasty.The funeral objects,such as slaves engaged in production,lacquer ware,silk fabrics,contract and the F-type bamboo slips of the tenth tombs,that reflecting the production of agricultural,handicraft and commercial materials in the Jiangling area in the early western Han Dynasty;records in funeral instrument and unearthed objects that related to material life,administrative documents in the village show differences in the material life of the bureaucrats,landowners,peasants,and slaves in clothing,food,and transportation,highlight the characteristics of social customs in Jiangling area.The luxury of the bureaucrats and the landlords,the hardships of the peasants,and the hardships of the slaves are still vivid;The unearthing of entertainment and paperwork tools,official dispatch showed the spiritual life of officials and residents in Jiangling in entertainment,study and education,and folk beliefs;through comparative studies with the documents,it reveals two social phenomena of Jiangling area in the early western Han Dynasty,that the gap between the rich and the poor and deeply influenced by the culture.At present,the academic community's research on the bamboo slips of Han Dynasty in Fenghuang mountain focuses on content variorum,agriculture and business development in Jiangling and local finance,social life is sporadic interspersed in some writings.Digging deeper and analysing the parts of social life in bamboo slips of Han Dynasty in Fenghuang mountain,It will help us understand the situation of the officials and the people in the Jiangling area in the early western Han Dynasty in terms of material life,production,and spiritual life,and deepen understand the local social life in the early western Han Dynasty.
