A Research Of Lan Dingyuan's Essays

Lan Dingyuan,as a scholar and a official of Qing Dynasty in Fujian,his prose is very considerable.However,the study of the Lan Dingyuan's prose has always been concentrated in other fields,but little involved in its literary nature.So this paper is based on the study launching the research from Lan Dingyuan's all prose,gives priority to the First Set of LuZhou,but take the Eastern Expedition Set and the Luzhou Cases as supplement and so on,in order to have a more accurate positioning of Lan Dingyuan 's prose creation and values.The first part is dedicated a chapter to sort out the thought of Lan Dingyuan as far as possible,which based on Lan Dingyuan's life story and literary theory.The seccond part is focused on discussing a great number of letters,prefaces,biography in the First Set of LuZhou,and combined with the Eastern Expedition Set to clarify the style theme and main contents of Lan Dingyuan's prose creation.In addition,taking the Luzhou Cases as a independent research object is purposed to comb out its text properties of rheological process,so as to have a more in-depth understanding for Lan Dingyuan 's prose creation.The third part is mainly about the analysis of Lan Dingyuan's prose unique features,which can be divided into the following points,such as good at narrative skill,doing well in argumentation,with a peculiar literary style of article writing,and having the characteristics of graceful concise language.Zhang Zhidong in the Qing Dynasty called him�the non sectarian writer of classical Chinese�,which embodies the unique status and value of the prose of Lan Dingyuan distinguished from a great dealof schools of prose in the early Qing Dynasty and the prose writers in Fujian.The last chapter is a discussion of the origin of Lan Dingyuan prose,the uniqueness of Lan Dingyuan's prose not only attributes to joint influence of external economic,political and cultural environment in the Ming and Qing Dynasties of South Fujian,but also cannot do without his personal interests,such as in favor of the statecraft article,drawing lessons from classical Chinese prosein Qin,Han,Tang and Song Dynasties,as well as,the worship andimitation of Li Shixiong,are all important factors to his prose creation,which all constitute his origin of prose.
