The popularization of history is one of the traditions of Chinese historiography.Although it has risen or fallen in the history of China,but it has never disappeared.The popularity of historiography caters to the needs of ordinary people who are excluded by orthodox historiography.The flourishing popularity of the popular history of the Song and Yuan Dynasties and the widespread dissemination of popular historical books in the Ming and Qing Dynasties have led to the widely spread of historiography among the general public.After the Sino-Japanese War,Liang Qichao actively advocated "New History",The rose of modern nationalism,Vernacular became a convenient text carrier,and The spread of Marxism,These were all promoted the spread of historical knowledge in a new form among the general public.After the Mukden Incident,the National Salvation Movement rose rapidly.The patriotic historians were incumbent to hold high the banner of historians serving the Anti-Japanese War.The historians not only turned their attention to the Chinese general history,Modern history,Frontier History and other fields related to the Anti-Japanese War,but also popularized historical knowledge through popular books,history teaching,historical dramas,and history.It provides historical reference,spiritual motivation,and intellectual support for the Chinese nation's survival and self-reliance.Moreover,it has given full play to the historical value and social role of historiography and enriched and developed historiography itself.
