The Resurgence Of Emperor Calligraphy For Song Dynasty

The previous research of Song Dynasty calligraphy history focused on “Top four of Song” and studied their calligraphy thoughts and representatives,which became the fixed model of calligraphy history arts and also limited the study of Song Dynasty calligraphy history.However,the previous research cannot fully represent the calligraphy development of Song Dynasty.This paper provides us a new insights to study the Emperor Calligraphy of Song Dynasty in the environment of respecting emtional expression,which proved the uniqueness of Emperor Calligraphy.Chapter one: The overview of Calligraphy in Song Dynasty.Cursive is the main stream of Calligraphy in Song Dynasty.Cursive is comprehensive and easy to express the emotion of the calligraphers,which promoted the formation of the calligraphy style in the Song Dynasty of respecting emtional expression.The style to respect emtional expression has two charteristics: One:Purpue and adore the emotion of Jin Dynasty;Two:Express personal emotion to show the chacterisctic of Song Dynasty.Chapter two: Historical Study of Emperor Calligraphy in Song Dynasty.As a Emperor,they should take the responsibility to lead the whole country to purpue happiness.They treated calligraphy as not only entertainment but also resources to learn how to run a coutnry,which developed their unique calligraphy style.To prove this point of view,Chapter two studied the history of Emperor and their education environment from two dimensions: One,Calligraphy is the foundation of arts and the origin of knowledge to govern a country.Two,Calligraphy practice among busy day which also provides energy to the Emperor.Chapter three: Study of Emperor Calligraphy in Song Dynasty in the environment of respecting emtional expression.Based on previous study,this Chapter explored in depth of Emperor Calligraphy in Song Dynasty focusing on arts and practice by studing lot of existing documentation.This chapter proved the complementary relationship between the environment of “respecting emtional expression” and devlopment of the Emperor Calligraphy in Song Dynasty.Chapter four: the standing and value of Emperor Calligraphy of Song Dynasty.Firstly,the Emperor is the one of a kind in political environment and thus formed unique calligrapher group;Secondly,the style of Emperor Calligraphy together with the written style drived the formation of the environment of respecting emtional expression,which became the main stream of Song Dynasty;Lastly,the achivement and ideas of Emperor Calligraphy in Song Dynasty caused strong social impact,especially ZHAO MENg FU who is the descendant of Song Dynasty and inherited the concept of Emperor Calligraphy in Song Dynasty.To sumarize,Emperor Calligraphy in Song Dynasty is one important part of Calligraphy development which deserved effort to further study and can help us get the comprehensive understading of Calligraphy in Song Dynasty.With this understading,we can contribute more to both current Calligrapy creation and theory formation.
