Trade plays a crucial role in the economic development of a country,the emergence of chartered trading companies has greatly promoted the development of overseas trade.At that time,countries in Western Europe were scrambling to establish chartered trading companies in order to occupy the European market.As a country that started late in overseas trade among countries in Western Europe,Britain has established its own chartered trading companies in various economic fields in the form of a royal charter,the common characteristic of these companies is that they monopolize the operation of a certain area or region,including this article discusses the chartered trading company-Eastland company.Its establishment has become an important step for British trade to advance into the Baltic Sea region,it has taken a crucial step towards the improvement of British economic strength and international status.This article focuses on four aspects of Eastland company,an early British commercial concession company.That is,the background of the establishment of Eastland company,the organization structure of Eastland company,the business activities of Eastland company and the relationship between the Crown in various countries and the Eastland company’s businessman.The first chapter mainly introduces the background of the establishment of Eastland company.After geography discoveries,European countries set off competition for commercial resources.With the decline of the Antwerp market and the decline in the international status of the Hanse,Coupled with the support of the British Crown has become the background of the establishment of the Eastland company.The second chapter mainly discusses the the organization structure of Eastland Company.Eastland company is a regulated company.Its internal institutional setup is less complex than that of later joint-stock companies.Mainly composed of governor,agent,and assistant.Also includes basic personnel such as accountants and secretaries.As a regulated company,Eastland Company has a certain characteristic of medieval guilds.Its development depends on the charter issued by the British Crown.The third chapter mainly introduces the business activities of Eastland company.Including export and import trade,in this chapter,the company exported its cloth to overseas,at the same time,other goods such as fur and British colonial goods were also exported.This brings a lot of economic income to the business people of Eastland Company.At the same time,it laid the foundation for the development of British overseas trade and the improvement of its international influence.The fourth charter mainly introduces the relationship between the Crown and the businessmen of Eastland company,including the relationship between the Elizabethan and the protection of the country after the civil war and the relationship between the parliament and the businessmen.The attitude of the Crown to a large extent determines the company can enjoy The privilege and the company’s development prospects.Chapter five describes the decline of the Eastland Company due to the change of British Parliament’s policy and the opposition of free traders to monopoly operations,and The Company has had a positive impact on the British and even Europe from the economic,industrial and political perspectives.Eastland Company has played a pivotal role in the history of British overseas trade.This paper attempts to make an in-depth analysis of the Eastland Company,an early British commercial company,through the domestic and foreign books,periodicals,and foreign original documents.In studying the case of Eastland Company,it should be noted that the company is a charted company in the England during a specific historical period and it has made contributions to the development of the England.With the progress of the times,how did the company withdraw from the stage of history.This is a problem that this article needs urgently to solve,and it is also the value of this article.
