With the development of the Internet, more and more people like to record life events on their SNS(Social Networking Services)as Facebook,Twitter or WeChat.Previous studies have tested that SNS use has relationship with people's well-being,but the result is mixed. As a typical behavior of SNS use, posting events on WeChat Moments may also have some relationship with well-being.Savoring is the process generating, maintaining, enhancing positive affect by attending to positive experiences from the past, present,or future.Although many researches have proved that savoring could enhance physical as well as mental health, the application of savoring is still in its infancy. The definition of savoring indicates that posting positive events on Moments is a way of savoring which might help people improve their well-being in their daily life.In order to test the assumption, two studies were carried out.In Study 1,247 university students were recruited to finish a questionnaire in order to explore whether there was relationship between posting positive events on Moments and subjective well-being.The results of the questionnaire indicated that:(1)There was a significant positive correlation between posting positive events on Moments and subjective well-being,even after controlling WeChat use intensity and the influence of personality(the Big Five);and the result of regression analysis showed that the intensity of posting positive events on Moments could predict one's subjective well-being.(2)There was a significant negative correlation between posting negative events on Moments and subjective well-being,even after controlling WeChat use intensity and the influence of personality(the Big Five);and the result of regression analysis showed that the intensity of posting negative events on Moments could inversely predict one's subjective well-being.In Study 2,157 university students were recruited in order to investigate the causal relationship of between posting positive events on Moments and subjective well-being.Subjective well-being contains cognitive well-being and emotional well-being.Compared with cognitive well-being,emotional well-being is more likely to be affected by external events. Therefore,in this study,we considered emotional well-being as the indicator of subjective well-being.Participants were randomly divided into two groups:experimentalgroup and control group. In experimental group, participants were asked to post a positive thing which happened in the past week on their Moments;and in control group, participants were asked to post a thing on their Moments. All the participants finished SPANE,consisting of 6 positive emotion words and 6 negative emotion words, before and after the posting task respectively.Because there was no demand of the valence of events in control group, some participants in control group posted a positive thing, some a negative thing and some a neutral thing. Therefore, the final analysis included four groups, namely experimental group, control group(positive post),control group(neutral post)and control group(negative post). The results showed that:Whether requested(experimental group)or unrequested to post positive events on Moments, participants' emotional balance(the indicator of emotional well-being,i.e.the difference between the scores of 6 positive emotion words and the scores of 6 negative emotion words)was significantly increased.Compared with other groups, the scores of positive experience(i.e.the scores of 6 positive emotion words)in experimental group participants increased significantly after posting positive events on Moments;and compared with other groups, the scores of negative experience(i.e.the scores of 6 negative emotion words)in control group(positive post)participants decreased significantly after posting positive events on Moments.Overall, complementing Study ?,Study 2 demonstrated that posting positive events on Moments can increase an individual's emotional well-being.In sum, posting events on WeChat Moments is an effective way of savoring which will improve individual's subjective well-being.
