As the social network site with the largest number of users in China,WeChat provides a new way of Internet communication for people.The use of WeChat becomes a topic worthy of research.There is a lot of researches on the use of social network sites like Facebook abroad.However,there are few researches on the use of Wechat in China,among which are especially less for the adult staff,but more for students.In the research,the characteristic of the staff about the use of WeChat as well as the related difference in demographic variables has been investigated.In addition,the quantitative research on the relationship among the self-presentation strategies of the staff on WeChat,their self-esteem and subjective well-being,and the mediating role of self-esteem have been carried out.In the research,the questionnaire has been carried out through The Self-presentation Strategies Scale of Social Network Sites(Chinese version),Subjective Well-being Scale(SWQ)and Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale.Five hundred and twenty-one questionnaires have beencollected,including five hundred and one valid questionnaires.The effective rate of questionnaire recovery was 96.16%.The research results are as follows:(1)In the use of WeChat,the browsing frequency is significantly different in terms of age,marital status and children's status.The updating frequency is significantly different in terms of education level and company nature.The number of friends is significantly different in terms of age and income level.(2)The positive self-presentation strategy of the staff on Wechat is significantly different in terms of the browsing frequency and the number of friends.It issignificantly different in terms of the updating frequency,the "like" frequency and the viewing frequency.(3)The self-esteem of the staff is at the middle level in general.It is significantly different in terms of age,education level and income level as well as the“like”frequency and viewing frequency of WeChat.(4)The subjective well-being of the staff is at a high level in general.It is significantly different in terms of gender,age,marital status,children's status,education level,company nature and income level as well as the “like”frequency and viewing frequency of WeChat.(5)The positive self-presentation strategy and real self-presentation strategy of the staff on WeChat are both positively correlated with their subjective well-being,life satisfaction and positive emotion as well as their self-esteem.Self-esteem is positively correlated with subjective well-being,life satisfaction and positive emotion.It is negatively correlated with negative emotion.(6)Self-esteem plays a certain mediator role between the positive self-presentation strategy of the staff on WeChat and their subjective well-being,life satisfaction and positive emotion.(7)It plays a certain mediator role between the real self-presentation strategy of the staff on WeChat and their subjective well-being,life satisfaction and positive emotion.It plays a full mediator role between the real self-presentation strategy and negative emotion.
