This is a Chinese-to-English simultaneous interpreting report based on a speech by professor Kimsen,Seinan Gakuin University,at the “2017 Annual Conference of the Northeast Asia International Language and Culture Research Base”.The title of the speech is “Eastern Asia's Folk Song Culture: Chinese Minority Ethnic Group's Folk Song and Manyoushu”.After interpreting, the author makes analyses and conclusion of the process and accomplishes this report. In this practice report, the author gives a description of the interpreting task in Chapter One.Chapter Two is an introduction to the interpreting process, including pre-task preparation,on-site interpreting and post-task evaluation. In Chapter Three, the author makes an analysis about her problems, such as information delay, loss of information and word-for-word interpretation and puts forward solutions, which are syntactic linearity, omission of less important information and liberal interpretation accordingly.Through this practice report, the author's understanding for simultaneous interpreting is enhanced.Hopefully, this practice report can be used as a reference for other interpreters and help them avoid the above-mentioned problems in the future.
