The vocabulary is the foundation of any language learning.The Chinese idiom is an important part of Chinese vocabulary,which has unique cultural charm with a strong Chinese cultural character.Due to its complexity and particularity,the Chinese idiom is not the key point but also the difficult point in the study of Chinese vocabulary for foreign students.This thesis takes Chinese idioms as the research objectives which are from the The Road to Success's intermediate comprehensive textbook.It makes a comprehensive analysis and summary of the Chinese idioms in the textbook which is from the number,classification,annotation and practice characteristics of Chinese idioms.And then puts forward the targeted evaluation and suggestions.This thesis has five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.It summarizes and analyzes the previous researches about Chinese idioms.And then it also introduces the significance,purpose,research objective and the research methods of this thesis.The second chapter is an analysis of Chinese idioms from The Road to Success's intermediate comprehensive textbooks.Firstly,it makes a brief introduction of the textbooks according to their basic components and the characteristic of each part.And then it carries out the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the number and distribution of Chinese idioms in the textbooks and compares with the Chinese idioms in outline.Finally,classify the idioms in the textbooks according to idioms' source and structure.The third chapter analyzes the annotation of the Chinese idioms in textbooks and relevant exercises.As for the annotation of Chinese idioms,it analyzes the characteristic of paraphrase from the annotation mode and content and points out the advantages and disadvantages.It gives the corresponding suggestions to the specific annotation.As for exercises,this part makes a detailed analysis of them and studies their characteristic and problem.The forth chapter summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of Chinese idioms arrangement in the textbook and puts forward some suggestions on the arrangement of the textbook and Chinese idiom teaching.Finally,it is the conclusion.
