Russian Leisure Culture Research Based On Psychological Anthropology

Every nation has its own unique leisure culture.The author of the paper took the theory of self-construal proposed by Markus and Kitayama to analyze the peculiarity of Russian leisure culture.Current research investigated the historical,social and cultural peculiarities that had formed the specifics of self-construal and so-called mindset of the Russians.Using the statistical data about the leisure motivation and behavior among the different social groups,the author conducted research that shown an ambivalent nature of Russian leisure culture.In the age of globalization,Russia faces many issues that influence the self-construal of Russian people and their system of values.Because of the some cultural and social factors,the Russians nowadays experience a lack of understanding their own culture.The author of the paper observed the main turning points that had happened during the historical development of Russia,and had shaped the ethnic psychology and self-construal of the Russians.The aim of the paper was to research the influence of an ambivalent nature of Russian ethnic psychology on the leisure culture and behavior of Russian people.The results of the research can help to realize the cultural differences of various cultures,and the interconnection between leisure motivation and behavior with leisure culture.The obtained results could help to choose the most suitable solutions for the development of leisure industry.
