A Research On Wuhan Federation Of Trade Unions During The Early Days Of China-(1949-1956)

As a mass group organized by workers,the unions was originally intended to unite workers and safeguard the workers' own interests.China's trade unions were born after the May 4th movement and they played a role in protecting workers' rights.Since then,the Communist party of China and the Kuomintang have fought for the right of voice andleadership of the revolution,China's trade unions have been given an internalrevolutionary idea.Its main task is to obey the revolutionary war,the political nature andthel class character of the union is outstanding.With the promotion of national politicalstatus of workers,the importance of trade unions became more and more prominent.Atthe same time,the national political and economic environment also has a deep influenceon the union,and the development of the union has been marked by the Times.For so long,the academic community has made remarkable achievements in the study of trade unions,but the research on trade unions is concentrated before the funding of PRC,and most are concentrated within the scope of political science and sociology science,study of the scope of history is not much.This paper focuses on the Wuhan federation of trade unions in the early days of China,using the research method of history,mainly focuses on the transformation of the functions in the activities.This paper will analyze from three aspects:the establishment and development of Wuhan federation of trade unions;administrative system and leading institutions;the specific operation and activities,to study the focus of work during each period.And it will reveal the changes of the leading institutions and the weakening of role as "the representative and defender of workers' interests",the independence and autonomy of the trade unions weakened gradually,the function of trade unions also reflects the characteristics of its gradual departure from its essence,worthy of reflection.
