The Study Of Schusterman’s Aesthetic Thought

As a representative figure of American pragmatism philosophy and aesthetics,Richard Schusterman also enjoys high reputation in today’s international aesthetic circles.Pragmatism is the Native American philosophy.Its emergence is closely related to the social and cultural background of the United States at that time.The development of the United States has experienced three stages: the beginning,the climax and the decline.In the era of Schusterman,the revival of pragmatism in the United States is one of the contemporary trends of the development of aesthetics,and also the historical demand of the post-modern cultural context.On this node,Schusterman actively draws on the classical pragmatist aesthetic ideas of James,Dewey and others,and makes full discussion of the comparison between Europe and the United States.The two philosophic aesthetic thoughts: the analytic and deconstructive aesthetics,on this basis,formed a kind of eclectic,open and pluralistic philosophy of pragmatism.This paper first briefly combs the origin and theoretical framework of the new generation of pragmatism.Through the analysis of the organic unity,the interpretation view and the ethical and political view,it points out its position in the theory of the new generation of pragmatism.Secondly,it analyses Schuster Mann’s art theory and defines his "Art is dramatic".It has been interpreted and its artistic viewpoint has been explained in the form of country music.The focus of the thesis is to analyze Schusterman’s body aesthetics and make a comprehensive analysis and demonstration of his core concept,body consciousness.The end of the paper points out the value demands of the new generation of pragmatism,and gives a brief analysis of its artistic theory and the limitations of body aesthetics.
