Under the backdrop of economic globalization, countries around the world tend to get more knowledge about China’s economy, thus translating Chinese economic texts into English has drawn widespread attention in translation circles. Yet it is very challenging to translate economic texts with distinctive features. By taking the translation of China’s Economy in Grave Peril (《中国经济到了最危险的边缘》) written by Larry Hsien Ping Lang as an example, this paper reveals some major challenges as well as difficulties in translating economic texts into English. Furthermore, this paper attempts to summarize some useful methods and strategies to cope with those difficulties by selecting some typical examples at the lexical, syntactic and textual levels. In a word, a translator should strive for the accuracy, logic and coherence in the process of translation so as to make the translated text readable and comprehensible.
