The Translation Methods Of Attributive Clause In The Academic Writing

Because English and Chinese belong to different language systems,together with the differences in thinking and culture between the East and the West,there will be great differences in the syntactic structure between the two languages.In English,connectives are needed to reflect the logical relations between sentence elements,such as attributive clauses,while Chinese is a parataxis language,which does not need connectives to reflect logical relations,but it achieves meaning through word order,and the structure is relatively loose.Therefore,in the process of translating attributive clauses,the differences of syntactic structure between the two languages should be considered,and the contents of translation materials should also be dissected and analyzed in the light of the linguistic characteristics of academic works.Moreover,the readers of academic works are not necessarily experts and scholars,but also ordinary readers such as translators.In translation practice,the translator finds that the combination of literal and free clauses is a difficult point in translation,so the translation of attributive clauses is chosen as the main research object in this paper.The report is divided into 5 different parts: Chapter One is a brief introduction of the project,including the background and significance of the task;Chapter Two presents the preparation before translation,translation process,and proofreading after translation.Chapter Three includes the definition and the features of attributive clauses to systematic the essay;Chapter Four,as the main body of the report,presents different specific translating methods of attributive clause.Chapter Five reveals the lessons in translating the text of academic-writing literature,they say I say.
