The text chosen to be translated in this translation report is the legislative text, The Scottish Tax Tribunal(Time Limits and Rules of Procedure) Regulations 2015. This legislative text is enacted by Scottish Ministers in accordance with the related stipulations, and contains a lot of attributive clauses. The language features of legislative texts and the differences between English and Chinese make the translation of attributive clauses difficult. And this report aims at finding some translation methods of attributive clauses in legislative texts.The report focuses on the translation of attributive clauses in legislative texts from the following aspects. Firstly, the author gives an overview of attributive clauses, and introduces the translation methods of attributive clauses. Then the author discusses the translation methods of attributive clauses in The Scottish Tax Tribunal(Time Limits and Rules of Procedure) Regulations 2015: prepositioning, division, mixture and translating into Chinese adverbial clause. Finally, the author draws the conclusion of the translation practice. In a word, it is essential to deeply understand source texts and clarify the logic relations between the attributive clause and the main clause in order to translate attributive clauses in legislative texts properly.
