This report is based on the simulating interpretation task of Dialogue on GMS Cross-Border E-Commerce Cooperation Platform and Founding Conference of Business Alliance of GMS Cross-Border E-Commerce Cooperation Platform which was held in Kunming in June,2016.Under the guidance of Translation Variation Theory,the author analyzes problems and difficulties occurred in the practice,as well as some interpreting strategies adopted for the task..In the late 1990’s,Professor Huang Zhonglian proposed the Translation Variation Theory,discussed its nature and developed twelve variation methods.Nevertheless,Translation Variation Theory is mainly confined to the field of translation and until in recent years that some tentative researches have been conducted which applied this theory to interpretation.In this report,the author discusses the necessity and feasibility of applying the Translation Variation Theory to interpretation and uses it as guidance to interpreting practices in the future.The report consists of four parts.The first part is the description of the interpreting task,which provides a brief introduction to the background and objectives.The second part introduces the pre-task preparation,the interpreting process and challenges.The third part is a case study.The author puts forward four variation tactics used for figuring out the key and puzzling points in the course of interpreting.The last part is the summary of this interpreting practice,which is mainly about the reflection of problems during interpreting and the inspiration to interpreting learning in the future. |
