Research Into The Quality Of A Consecutive Interpreting Case And The Learning Strategies For Interpretation Based On The Variation Theory

As one of the common forms of conference interpretation, consecutive interpretation plays an important role and has great influence in society. With the further development of globalization, its basic role has been increasingly displayed. And the variation theory, proposed by professor Huang Zhonglian, has its great value in its practical guidance, especially its variation methods which appeal to the translators very much and gain their wide use. This consecutive interpreting practice is based on the author’s personal experience. In this thesis, the author uses the variation theory to analyze and evaluate the quality of the interpreting practice, finds out the problems and causes existing in the practice of consecutive interpretation, further explores the way to improve the quality of consecutive interpretation under the guidance of the variation theory, and finally puts forward some strategies and methods for interpreters and researchers for their study and reference. The author hopes this hands-on practice of consecutive interpretation can make some contribution to the researches and practice of the interpreters who can benefit from it.
