Study Of Descriptive Temporay Nominal Quantifier In Morden Chinese

Temporary nominal quantifiers are always divided into container temporary nominal classifier(for example the “cup” in “one cup of water”)and loaded temporary nominal classifier(for example the “body” in “one body of mud”).This kind of classification can't explain some language phenomena very well.Based on a large number of linguistic facts,after multi-angle analysis and comparison,we think that temporary nominal classifier should also be divided into one sub class,that is,descriptive temporary nominal classifier(for example the “arc” in “one arc of eyelash”).The first chapter introduces the significance of this topic,the current research situation and the source of linguistic material.The linguistic material in this paper mainly collected first-hand from197 literary works,which not only has the authenticity and authority,but also lays a good foundation for the study of this paper.The second chapter,through the analysis of the corpus,thinks that the descriptive temporary nominal quantifier is a type of quantifier borrowed from noun,verb,adjective,noun morpheme,adjective morpheme and so on in quantitative structure.The function to the noun is mainly description rather than measurement.The third chapter analyzes the collocation of descriptive temporary nominal classifier and nouns in quantitative structures.As for the category of collocation objects,the single nouns,single-class nouns and multi-class nouns reflect the effect of descriptive temporary nominal classifier on noun's individual prominence,category prominence and categorization prominence respectively.As for the form of structure,In addition to the basic form of numeral + quantifier + noun,there are other eight variants.The fourth chapter analyzes the characteristics of descriptive temporary nominal classifier from the functions of scale and rhetoric.The descriptive temporary nominal classifiers have no quantity category and have noability to measure nouns.On the pragmatic level,they are similar to the noun classifier's rhetorical usage which can enhance the expressive force of language.Compared with the later one,descriptive temporary nominal classifiers are closely connected with some semantic features of nouns in the structures,and they can complete and highlight of the semantic features of nouns.The fifth chapter considers that the measurement function of descriptive temporary nominal classifier comes from the coercive effect of the basic quantitative structure,and quantifer itself doesn't measure nouns is not a unique phenomenon,such as individual quantifier and verb classifier.In the sixth chapter,the relationship between descriptive temporary nominal quantifier and individual quantifier is discussed.It is considered that descriptive temporary nominal quantifier is a transitional form of the diachronic evolution of some volume words,which makes up for the defects of the temporary nominal quantifier system that does not correspond to the individual quantifier.At the same time,the analysis of the mostly "one" in the quantitative structure.It is believed that the "one" which means "full or whole" is actually "unit 1",and the semantic focus of the quantitative structure is changed from quantity to the central nouns.In the end,the paper makes an analysis of the description of the descriptive temporary noun quantifier in the great Chinese dictionary,the Chinese Lexicon and the modern Chinese Dictionary,and puts forward some suggestions for the supplement,hoping to help the compilation and evision of the dictionaries.
