This article takes the Manchu people from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China as the independent research object,through the investigation of their living conditions to explore the local ethnic composition and ethnic relations in this historical period,and changes in cultural exchanges.In terms of source,the Manchu people in Hohhot were mostly descendants of officers and soldiers stationed in Suiyuan City in the middle of the Qing Dynasty.As a result,these garrison officers and men and their descendants enjoyed relatively superior political status and economic and cultural life in the Qing Dynasty.With the collapse of the Qing Dynasty and the political turmoil in Inner Mongolia during the period of the Republic of China,The life of the Manchu people in Hohhot City has undergone tremendous changes.Their status has plummeted,their living conditions have been extremely difficult,and their populationhas been greatly reduced.Politically,the Manchu people lost their privileged treatment in the Qing Dynasty and became ordinary people.Even suffered discrimination.Economically,the Manchu people lost their state salaries since the Qing Dynasty,and lacked the skills to earn a living.In the midst of loss and hardship,the Manchu people began to find their own way out and constantly struggle for survival.Together with the people of other nationalities,they went through hardships,and finally reborn after the founding of the people's Republic of China.With the changes of history,The traditional Manchu culture and customs that have been passed down among the Manchu people in Hohhot since the Qing Dynasty have also undergone subtle changes,some of which have been preserved and some have merged with other nationalities.To become a part of the traditional culture and folklore in Hohhot.
