As the tool of international education quality evaluation in teacher-student interaction,Classroom Assessment Scoring System(CLASS)has the characteristics of reflecting real classroom teacher-student interaction,quality assessment based on students' behavior,and a combination of both qualitative and quantitative approach to promote teacher professional development.CLASS has the high reliability and validity.Using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System as the research tool,this author select four primary school English teachers' classrooms in Grade Six in a primary school in Kunming to observe and record the teacher-student interaction,analyzing and assessing the quality of teacher-student interaction from the perspective of "overall situation","emotional support","classroom organization" and "instructional support".Combined with information obtained from interviewing teachers and students,this research also aims to reveal the characteristics of the high quality of teacher-student interaction and how teachers use interactive strategy.Based on the above investigation,it is found that the overall level of teacher-student interaction is upper medium,and there are three characteristics of high quality teacher-student interaction in Grade six English classrooms: positive emotional teacher-student interaction atmosphere,diverse and efficient classroom organization strategy,and instructional support aimed to encourage students' development of thinking ability.In the process of teacher-student interaction,the interactive strategies used by teachers mainly include: "creating positive emotional interaction atmosphere","using a variety of classroom organization form","giving plenty of teaching support ".This study also offers some implications for primary school English teachers for promoting teacher-student interaction and improving teaching efficiency.
