Discourse markers(DMs)is a type of functional word in oral Chinese,which presents the procedure meaning instead of the conceptual meaning and has textual function as well as interpersonal function.Research on DMs will help us gain a deeper understanding of language generalization,so as to use the language more effectively.Meanwhile,it helps us complete the fundamental task of teaching Chinese as a foreign language,which is to train students' ability to communicate more successfully.So,the research of DMs must be valued.On the basis of the systematic review of DMs at both home and abroad and taking students who are in middle-to-high level as the subject and keeping awareness and usage in mind,this paper tries to investigate the students' usage reality of textual DMs and interpersonal DMs,and tries to apply the theoretical results into the teaching process of DMs as well.This paper adapts documentary analysis,questionnaire survey,transcription and corpus analysis.Firstly,this paper analyzes the research status,the concept of DMs,the classification and function of DMs,as well as the theoretical basis,the research objectives and the research methods of this dissertation.Secondly,combining questionnaires to examine the ideological foundations of middle-to-high level Chinese learners' DMs,it was found that Chinese learners of this level have a strong discernment awareness of DMs and that their understanding awareness is not weak.But overall,in the area of awareness,the textual function DMs are stronger than interpersonal function DMs.Furthermore,this paper examines the using of DMs toward middle-to-high level Chinese learners.The eight topics in the Nightline appointments column were selected as the language materials of native Chinese speakers.The same topics were given to middle-to-high level Chinese learners,and two or three students were asked to make a dialogue,recording with a digital voice recorder.After transcribing the corpus,this paper analyzes the actual situation oflearners using of DMs in the intermediate and advanced stages from multiple perspectives.The reslut shows that leaners' using of DMs had a large gap between the native speakers,with a great deal of using but low quality.Taking the learner's own spoken language corpus as the research content,it is found that the typical characteristics of typical DMs and atypical DMs are worthy of discussion and correction.Finally,according to the results of the questionnaire and oral corpus analysis,this article gives appropriate teaching suggestions on the actual situation of middle-to-high level Chinese learners.The starting point of this article is to make the DMs gain the attention and promote the development of teaching.It is not necessary to put the status of DMs on other grammar items...
