The combined extreme complement of degree is a small class of Chinese complement system.Although the form is simple,the commanding situation of foreign students is not quite good.At present,most studies of the combined extreme complement of degree are from the ontology field.There are few studies in the field of teaching Chinese as a second langurage,and most existing studies are from the perspective of errors,not paying attention to proper usages.Based on the present research situation,we conduct a comprehensive inspection of proper usages and errors with materials in intermediate corpuses,aiming to benefit teaching and learning the combined extreme complement of degree.We determine our research scope of 5 combined extreme complements of degree based on Chinese Standards And Grammar Outline,and then search the related materials in intermediate language corpuses.After artificial selection,Chinese native speakers are invited to judge the cases' correct or not.Based on this,we inspect the proper usages and errors from aspects of form,grammar,sematics and pragmatics.This paper summarizes the characteristics of different stages students using the combined extreme complement of degree,and also the dynamic development of different characteristics and the difficult points.We found out from the proper cases that the accuracy of the combined extreme complement of degree is not so high,with the highest accuracy at the middle stage and the lowest at the beginning stage.Students at the beginning stage use only “hen,bu de liao”,which consistents with the teaching situation.The complement structure of the combined extreme complement of degree is generally used as a predicate,and its predecessors are mostly served as adjectives and also are concentrated in vocabulary A and B.In terms of errors,we found that the error rates of form,grammar,semantics,and pragmatics decreased in turn,and that the rate of misinterpretation of structural auxiliaries is the highest.At different stages,the number and distribution of error dots are different.From all cases including proper uses and errors,the number of using “hen,bu de liao” is the most,and the rate of error is also relatively high.The students at the beginning stage command the complementarity structure best.The students at the beginning and middle stages appeared only errors with the degree adverb,and only the students in high stage use correctly with mood adverb.
