Ambiguous Loss Of Leaving Home That University Students Suffer: Perception,Influence And Resilient Coping

Population mobility is increasingly prevalent in modern society,and people have to be face with separation more frequently.Most university students will go through an important transition,leaving home.If the students can't adapt to the transition well,emotion problems may occur to them.We will take the perspective of Ambiguous Loss theory to research the situation in the study.In study 1,to clarify the nature of ambiguous loss in leaving home situation,we interviewed 40 university students who study away from home,and summarized the features,perception,and influence of ambiguous loss in leaving home situation,and the coping of individual resilience and family resilience.In study 2,to offer a reliable measure tool for quantitative research,we established Perception of Ambiguous Loss Scale,and the reliability and validity of the scale has been tested.In study 3,to explore the perception,influence and coping of ambiguous loss in bigger samples,we used relevant scales to collect data,and analyzed the overall prevalence and effect factors of perception of ambiguous loss,its influence on individual emotion and the coping mechanism of individual resilience and family resilience.The results of above qualitative and quantitative researches show:(1)Ambiguous loss commonly exists in the situation of university students' leaving home,and has both the common feature of other ambiguous situation and unique feature of leaving home situation;(2)The perception of ambiguous loss in leaving home situation includes four dimensions: role of family members,role of themselves,attachment of family and atmosphere of family;(3)The degree of ambiguous loss is in medium level,and is affected by objective,personal and familial factors;(4)Ambiguous loss influence individual emotion and family relation negatively and positively,and the perception of ambiguous loss can predict individual emotion;(5)The influence of perception of ambiguous loss on individual emotion is buffered and mediated by individual resilience and family resilience.
