China is known as the state of rites and music.In the history of world civilization,the culture of rites and music as the kernel and symbol of Chinese civilization,has always been an important cultural feature that distinguishes the Chinese nation from the rest of the world.The source of ritual music originates from the sacrificial rites of ancient times.It was separated from the early primitive system of “Xiang Wang Yue Jiao” and the important cultural concept of independent status.It is the beginning of three generations from the Xia ? Shang and Zhou dynasties,the convergence and separation of rites and music has never been reduced.Duke of Zhou,it is he who established a whole set of ruling systems by creating rituals and music,and promote it to the social and cultural level.Thus,it provides a spiritual paradigm for the feudal society and ethics in daily life.From the Pre-Qin period to the Confucism of Han dynasty,the status of feudal ethics and rites rose gradually.It became the main idea of ancient feudal society finally.As the core of Confucian culture,the “governance of rites and music” also established political dominance.The general consensus is that “the music after the rituals”.Even though convergence has always been the main trend in the development of the relationship of rites and music.But throughout history it is easy to see:Prosperity was the same,and the chaos was separate,is a significant feature in the derivation of rites and music.The Confucian classics advocated the function of "music" under the rule of "propriety".The emphasis on propriety was clearly intended to better serve the unification of the feudal rule.But in the Wei-Jin dynasty,since the etiquette has been unable to adapt to the social reality.The scholars began to reflect on the disadvantages of the Confucian ethical code and joining together of the rites and musics,and eager to find a new idea that can compete with the system of ritual.However,the internal fit of “Musics” and “Taoist nature” made “think highly ofmusic” a common pursuit of the famous people at that time.Therefore,the representative characters of Wei-Jin metaphysics used “Musics” as the external manifestation of “Taoist nature” to oppose the “rites” of Confucianism.It was set off a new fashion of emancipate the mind and pursue individuality.The new fashion is a spiritual symbol of Wei-Jin style and reputation,and is a carrier of cultural content,which is called “Qing Tan”?“Shang Xuan” and “Wu Xu”.Under the influence of this social trend.The evaluation of the characters began to deviate from the moral standards under the Confucian ethics,was pay more attention to personality charm and individual value.The trend of separation of rites and music is further strengthened.The Wei-Jin dynasty became one of the few times in the history of China advocating individual independence.The separation of rites and music and the struggle of convergence have always been in the development of ancient Chinese society.Because of the centralized political system.The separation of rites and music has never been as powerful as the convergence of the rites.In history,it was just a flash in the pan.But it advocates the freedom of humanity and the correction of Confucianism has had a profound influence on the later generations,and it was shining the light of humanism.
