A Practice Report On Whispered Interpretation At An Academic Lecture On Recitation

In September 2017,an academic lecture on recitation was delivered at Hebei University.The interpreter and her foreign friend attended it.Therefore,she did Chinese-English whispered interpretation to help him understand the lecture.The practice report,which is based on the interpretation practice,aims to help her to improve interpreting skills through detailed analysis of the interpretation.The whole report consists of five chapters.The first chapter gives an introduction to the interpretation task.The second chapter gives a description of the practice process.Chapter 3 describes the interpreter's preparations for the task.Chapter 4,the most important segment of this practice report,presents some cases,which appeared in this interpretation task,each with detailed analysis,and it is divided into two parts.In the first part,the carefully chosen cases are analyzed from the perspective of interpreting techniques,including anticipation,omission and addition;in the second part,the interpreter analyzes one relatively big problem occurring in interpretation.In Chapter 5,the interpreter summarizes what she has learned from the interpretation practice.
