A Practice Report Of The Whispered Interpretation At The Seventh China Translation Profession Forum

The practice report is based on my whispered interpreting at the Seventh China Translation Profession Forum. In the report, I analyze the recording of my on-site interpreting,summarize the experience and problems and make suggestions for other interpreters.The practice report consists of five parts: task description, procedure description,preparations for interpreting, case analyses and summary. In the first part, I introduce the general background of the Seventh China Translation Profession Forum, including time, place,theme, and audience. Procedure description is a brief introduction of how this forum went on.The importance of preparations for interpreting is elaborated from three perspectives,including collecting the related materials, building up the terminology list and preparing the interpreting instrument. As the core of this report, case analyses summarize the experience and lessons of my on-site interpreting. With a wide range of translation strategies, I interpreted some terms and short sentences at the forum. The last part is summary, in which I give some suggestions on how to become a qualified interpreter and hope it will be helpful to other interpreters.
