Emotional idioms serve as important elements of daily communications both in Russian Culture and Chinese Culture,bearing heavy traditional cultural connotations and emanating the lively atmosphere of the contemporary era,which is well-known as the window to display the precious treasures of the international linguistic culture.Nowadays,above the linguistic circle,there is still short of academic literature on the comparison of emotional idioms in both languages,so there is still massive blank in this academic field.Based on the theoretical foundations of semasiology,comparative linguistics and linguistic culturology,this thesis prospectively takes the emotional idioms in Russian and Chinese languages as the research object and conducts an in-depth comparative analysis of the semantics and pragmatics.In the introduction part,the research status and deficiency in this topic is introduced,while explaining the intention and ultimate purpose and stating the methods and basic theories.In the main part,firstly,we summarize the concept definitions and categories of these emotional idioms.Secondly,from the perspective of etymology,we extract the common metaphors of these emotional idioms.Finally,we analyze innovatively the causes of the similarities and differences between them.In order to discuss the metaphorical construction patterns respectively,the typical metaphorical images of the emotional idioms are divided into 3 categories: the body parts,the abstract characters,the natural phenomenons & animals & plants.Meanwhile,we explore the cultural roots of these emotional idioms from 7 aspects.In conclusion part,we summarize the innovative achievements: Religious Beliefs,Living Habits,Historical Backgrounds,Natural Geographies of the emotional idioms led to differences in the semantic level of emotional images,and Physiological Structures,National Psychologies and the Introduction from Other Foreign Languages led to similarities between Russian and Chinese idioms.In the end,we propose the advises to adhere to the principle of cultural mutual respect and seeking common ground while reserving differences in translation and education practical activities of Russian and Chinese idioms.We hope this research could be beneficial to enrich and improve the structure system of Russian-Chinese comparative linguistics,and assist translators and learners more or less.
