In recent years, International Chinese language education has developed rapidly,foreign language learners are growing with this situation. Because of the development,Demand of International Chinese language education teachers is increasing, so is theexploration of International Chinese language education methods. In the internationalChinese language education, teaching of Chinese idiom is a special part. Foreignlanguage learners are interested in Chinese idioms, but at same time, they havedifficulties in understanding and using the Chinese idioms.This assay based on the Chinese Idioms Teaching in Chinese international education,summary the experience of Chinese idioms teaching in the past. The assay attempted tomake English-Chinese language comparison in Chinese idioms teaching. This paperselects the idioms in HSK level six as the teaching content, and discussed practicalproblems in teaching Chinese idioms and the solutions of them.The contrastive linguistics method between Chinese and English in this paper isused for the learners who is not English native speaker and mastered the English. Thelearners in the study need to have good English foundation. The process of learningEnglish as a second language gives those learners cross-cultural learning experience.This ability to understand cross-cultural can helps them learn Chinese. The contrastivelinguistics method between English and Chinese used in this assay combines the theoryof contrastive analysis, interlanguage theory and theory of the third language acquisitiontheory. The paper absorbs the advantages of these theories in the international Chineseeducation, so as to meet the objective of teaching Chinese idioms. A teaching experimentis made for test the feasibility and practical effects for this kind of teaching method. Theteaching experiment includes two parts: teaching in groups and examination, which istrying to find a method that can be useful in the Chinese idioms teaching. This paper canprovide reference for the research of English-Chinese language comparison method usedin the process of international Chinese language education in the future.
