Comparison Of Performance Between Professional And Nonprofessional Interpreter

In this report,the author had a detailed review of a consecutive interpreting job jointly completed by the author and another interpreter,covering every stage in the job from up front preparation,on-site preparation,interpreting process,to post-job analysis.The author gives this report significance by comparing the performance of the two interpreters involved since the other interpreter also has good command of language and adequate background knowledge.The author successfully identified two similarities shared by both interpreters and three major differences in their performance.The author then tries to provide explanations for these differences,pointing to the underlying difference between a professional interpreter and a nonprofessional one,which can be of importance for interpreting learners as they improve themselves.
