A Report On Simulated Simultaneous Interpreting Of Jack Ma’s Speech At The 2017 World Internet Of Things Wuxi Summit

Currently,simultaneous interpretation has become a communicative mode widely applied in various activities and important conferences.From the perspective of the Interpretive Theory,this report chooses the speech of the 2017 World Internet of Things Wuxi Summit as the source of the simulated simultaneous interpreting,analyzes some typical cases and summarizes the corresponding interpreting skills.This report is divided into four parts.The first part is task description.The background of the task and the speaker are roughly introduced and the nature and purposes of the task are analyzed.The second part is the task process,which includes the pre-interpreting preparations and the interpreting process.The third part is the theoretical basis and case analysis.It gives an overview of the Interpretive Theory.According to this theory,four interpreting skills are summarized: waiting,reorganization,repetition and simplification.Some representative cases in the practice have been selected for analysis.The fourth part is the summary of this practice.The importance of preparations before interpreting and the problems in the practice are summed up in this part.Based on the Interpretive Theory,this report summarizes four interpreting skills through practical analysis and provides some suggestions for future interpretation tasks.
