As the latest national standard,The Graded Chinese Syllables,Characters and Words for the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages has been studied more and more in the academic circles in recent years.The research on the vocabulary part is particularly prominent,but the systematic research on the monosyllabic adjectives is still in progress,more lacking.This article is based on the “The Graded Words” section,combines the previous studies on the semantic of monosyllabic adjectives and research results on the vocabulary part of the grade division,and makes an attempt to study the semantics of the monosyllabic adjectives in the grade division.In this paper,we selected 471 monosyllabic adjective items in the vocabulary as the research object,combined with the specific corpus,the semantic categories are examined and described,and calculated the distribution of monosyllabic adjectives,the semantic categories are summed up according to the appropriate classification methods.On this basis,the semantic subcategories of monosyllabic adjectives are analyzed and summarized according to the single and complex conditions of the modified subjects.According to the above study,we concluded that most of the monosyllabic adjectives are mainly used to modify inanimate objects,and they are mostly concentrated in grade one and grade two from the perspective of hierarchical distribution.At last,according to the grade distribution and semantic categories,we put forward some reference suggestions for teaching and textbook compilation.
