The Study On The Comic Spirit Of Chinese Road Movie

The overall style of Chinese road movies is different from nature of western traditional road movies.Instead of seeking for human nature through the pursuit of freedom,the pursuit of independence,or even rebellion and violence,Chinese road movies tend to convey a black humor experience,and this choice reflects a number of social issues.This article takes the comedy spirit in Chinese road movies as the object of study,and discusses it from three aspects: the representation of the comedy spirit in Chinese road movies,the comedy spirit that mobile images seeking and the metaphorical comedy spirit from the movie scene.Chapter one discusses the tactics of comedy in Chinese road movies.It examines the intense relationship among people,between human beings and nature or between human beings and social environment in an absurd,disorderly,satirical and dramatic way.It criticizes the social phenomena such as the restrictions on the freedom of humanity,excessive pursuit of fame or fortune,or inconstancy of human relationships by a black humorous way to realize the absurd deconstruction of the real society.Chapter two focuses on the comedy spirit sought by characters who are moving images.Due to the unique cultural and social background of China,instead of expressing dissatisfaction to the society,Chinese road movies focus more on a spiritual journey,which means characters often carry more warmth on the journey,rebellions or treasons more or less are a reflection of self-lost or the sought of personal emotion and personal destination,rather than dissatisfaction with the entire social system.The outcome of the story is often relatively complete and positive.The author summarizes the comedy spirit which sought by “passenger'' in the movie as three aspects: moral conformity,emotional identity and the return of home.Chapter three mainly analyzes the comedy spirit in the unique factors of road movies,such as means of transportation,landscapes on the road and the regional space,which could perceive the contemporary society and living conditions of human beings through the function and meaning represented of these space symbols.
