With the development of society informatization and economic globalization,the significance of English has been growing.As one of the most important information carrier,English has become the most widely used language in various areas.Speaking English is an essential ability.Nowadays English has become one of the main subjects from the primary school to senior high school.In addition,English is a course in universities and essential for master degree as well as doctorate degree.For students' English study,the middle school can be seen as a connecting link.In many places,primary-school English is influenced by some factors,such as the teachers' levels,the attention from parents,interests and learning methods.Therefore,the English levels of students are different,which brings a lot of challenges for the middle-school English teaching.Thus after-class tutor,as a kind of extention of traditional classes,is becoming popular with the aim of improving students' English levels.The after-class tutor has become the second class for most middle school students and been more and more popular.However,along with the popularity,the after-class tutor is also being questioned for its effectiveness.In the meantime,many relative researches are coming.Based on the survey,those middle school students who are positively influenced by after-class tutor are selected.This paper will discuss the conditions on which the tutor can have positive influence on students and find out the specific benefits.Then more information will be gotten by deep interview.By comparing after-class tutor and the traditional class,the advantages of the tutor will be clearer,which drives teachers to reflect on the teaching path of traditional classes.According to massive survey,the conclusions are:Firstly,the initiative is the precondition for the tutor to have positive influence on English study.Secondly,the after-class tutor will positively influence students' emotion,memory,information processing and interpersonal communication.Thirdly,the traditional class should change the teaching ideas and teaching methods,promoting the teaching in class by using multi-evaluation.
